Rüfüs Du Sol

The band Rüfüs/Rüfüs Du Sol is a band of 3, Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George and James Hunt. They're a alternative dance band that originated from Sydney, Australia and they have released two albums and four extended plays. They formed their group in 2010 and their first extended play was released on the 1st of January 2011 and their first single later that year on the 25th of July. Their second extended play was released on the 6th of April 2012 and their second single on the 16th of July 2012.

On the 9th of August 2013, they released their first album called Atlas which became number 1 in the Australian Albums Chart 16 days after release. They released three songs from the albums in 2013 which began with "Take Me", then "Desert Night" and "Tonight". Then on the 21st of March released their fourth single from the album called "Sundream".

In June 2015, the single "You Were Right" was released which had come from their upcoming album "Bloom" which was later released in 2016.

Electronic Dance Music:

Electronic Dance music (Also known as EDM) is a type of music made mainly for night clubs, raves and festivals. When the music first came about in 1980-1990, it was popular but was restricted as it was related to the use of recreational drugs. But in the millennium it became really popular and spread from Eurpose to the United States. The term "Electronic Dance Music" is now being more used as an umbrella term which covers House, Techno, Trance, Drum and Bass and Dubstep. Their music videos include a lot of coloured lighting, low lighting, animation, use of software such as After Effects, a range of shot sizes, cuts, zooms and effects which are in time with the beat of the music and almost every single video includes someone dancing which links to its genre which is dance music.

Iconography:

The typical iconography used is images of turntables, launchpads a vinyls. Also disco lights and lasers.

Costumes:

The costumes in EDM videos are very basic for the actual artist, normally a plain shirt or t-shirt with jeans or trainers. Other actors will be dressed for a party, club or festival if depending on the setting. Sometimes swimwear if at the beach which is also a popular setting for EDM videos.

Cast:

The cast are likely to be between 18-25 which will appeal to the target audience as they will be around the same age.
