Note to the Examiner

My brief was to create a promotional package for the release of an album which included a music promo as well as two of the three options listed below:

- A digipak for the album
- A magazine advertisement
- A website homepage for the artist

The two options I chose to create is the digipak and magazine advertisement and the genre I chose to create these for is Electronic Dance Music (EDM).

Please use the labels to the right to navigate my blog.

Thank you,

Question 2: How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

Transcript of podcast:

Our brief is to create a promotional package for an album release. This means making a music promo for one of the songs, an album digipak and an magazine advertisement. A main factor of a good promotional package is synergy throughout all products. This means they should have similarities but not all identical as the advertisement and digitak are for the whole album and not just one song.

Location: Location was a main focus throughout my research. My music promo and both ancillary tasks are all in different locations but are all athletically pleasing. After researching into the main audience of EDM, I found that they enjoy making memories and are known to live life in the moment so showing different locations to visit will attract them.

Font: In both ancillary products I used the font “Denver”. The font is minimalistic and doesn’t take the attention away from the background and the white doesn’t clash with the bright colours in the background.

Lighting: The lighting throughout all products is natural when shot but edited afterwards to enhance the colours of the images and shots. This helps create synergy as they will all be coloured but no too intense nor too dull.
